Nono lungometraggio dedicato alla serie "Detective Conan". Due gli antefatti: quindici anni prima un mercantile, appartenente al gruppo finanziario Yashiro, affondò nell'Oceano Atlantico dopo lo scontro con un iceberg. Il comandante della nave fu assassinato proprio in quelle ore, mentre l'equipaggio della nave riuscì a mettersi in salvo, ad eccezione di chi aveva scoperto il cadavere del comandante. Sei mesi prima degli eventi narrati dal film un progettista navale del gruppo Yashiro è morto in un incidente stradale dopo aver avuto un attacco cardiaco mentre era alla guida. Gli eventi del film hanno luogo sulla lussuosa nave da crociera Afrodite in navigazione nell'Oceano Pacifico per il suo viaggio inaugurale, anche questa nave è costruita dal gruppo Yashiro. A bordo ci sono Conan, Ran, Kogoro, Sonoko, il dottor Agasa e i Detective Boys che si trovano coinvolti in un caso di omicidio.
